Fawaka GreenBook donates Entrepreneur School scholarships to primary kids in disadvantaged areas as well as refugees. This brings confidence, an entrepreneurial spirit, positivity and practical skills which you don’t learn in school. The word ‘fawaka’ means “How are you doing?”, originally used in Surinamese street language and now widely used in the Netherlands and beyond.
The cover design is inspired by Amsterdam-based poet Gershwin Bonevacia. The hands on the cover show the way Gershwin holds his GreenBook when reciting one of his poems. Despite his dyslexia, Gershwin became a successful poet. He supports young people, especially from minority groups, to pursue their dreams.
